Hey folks,
I noticed that some of the old pages were missing photos, probably due to a recent transfer of content back to WordPress. So I’ve spent some time refurbishing. In case you haven’t looked in awhile, I just finished fixing Rev. Heisig’s page. He was an interesting chap and just think what it must have been like to leave Germany in the 1800’s, go to London, then take your family of 10 on a ship to Galveston with the goal of carrying German Baptism to Texas!!
Also interesting that his first wife Elisa Marie (also our ancestor, CT’s mother) is buried not far from where I live now, out near Brenham. I would love to know more about her. For awhile Scott and I were looking at property out there — back when we both were practicing lawyers. Wouldn’t that have been ironic if we’d bought something near Independence where he started that first church.
Here’s the photo one of my genealogy contacts sent me back then, care of Washington County Genealogical Society. Maybe one of these days I will go out there and try to find it. I may have to knock on someone’s door so I don’t get shot!

Well enjoy re-reading about the good Reverend, and please let me know if you like the site! It helps to know even one person is reading to keep me going. 🙂
There are more pages I need to fix but for now I think I’ll head back on over to the Moore side. Love to all.
